Access:  Good News *

Webster defines access as gaining the capacity to enter or approach. Having access to something or someone means, that something or someone is available to you at anytime

If you have seen the movie The Passion of the Christ you probably remember the scene where Jesus was brought before the Sanhedrin which was headed up by the chief priest of the temple and his court. Jesus told them He would rip the veil of the Holiest of Holies and the temple would be destroyed and He would rebuild it in three days. This statement was way too deep in theology for these guys. They had no idea what Jesus was talking about. However in reality what Jesus was talking about was access my friend.

In verse 45 Luke tells us at the precise moment Jesus died on the Cross, “the curtain of the sanctuary was split down the middle,” from top to bottom, from the roof to the floor. This curtain hung at the entrance to the temple’s most holy place, the Holiest of Holies. A place which only the High Priest could enter once a year, on the Day of Atonement, with the blood of an animal offering it up in sacrifice. Only the High Priest had access to the Holiest of Holies no one else was allowed to enter into God’s presence. However, this torn curtain was a sign from God that the death of Jesus made Him God the Father available to anyone, not just the High Priest.

This friend is what we Christians call the Gospel. The word Gospel means good news. We now have access to God the Father through His Holy Spirit at anytime at any place if we believe Jesus died for our sins and on the third day He arose from the dead winning victory over death, hell and the grave, that’s the Gospel and all God’s people said amen!!

This week is Holy week. The week Jesus rode into Jerusalem to complete the Will of the Father all the way to the Cross of Calvary, so the curtain could be split for you and me. I hope you spend a little more time in prayer this week. Please make your devotion time last a little longer. I also hope my friend, if you have not accepted Jesus as your Savior what a week to do so. Then you can have total access to God the Father.

This Sunday is Easter Sunday. The day we set aside to celebrate the risen Savior Jesus Christ. Do yourself and your family a favor …celebrate the fact that we now have total access, because the curtain has been split for you and for me.

Esto, amigo, es lo que los cristianos llamamos el Evangelio. La palabra “Evangelio” significa buenas noticias. Ahora tenemos acceso a Dios Padre a través de su Espíritu Santo en cualquier momento y en cualquier lugar si creemos que Jesús murió por nuestros pecados y que al tercer día resucitó de entre los muertos, venciendo la muerte, el infierno y la tumba. ¡Ese es el Evangelio, y todo el pueblo de Dios dice amén!

Esta semana es la Semana Santa. La semana en que Jesús entró en Jerusalén para cumplir la voluntad del Padre hasta la cruz del Calvario, para que el velo fuera rasgado por ti y por mí. Espero que esta semana dediques un poco más de tiempo a la oración. Haz que tu tiempo devocional sea un poco más largo. También espero, amigo mío, que si no has aceptado a Jesús como tu Salvador, qué mejor semana para hacerlo. Entonces podrás tener acceso total a Dios Padre.

Este domingo es Domingo de Pascua, el día que apartamos para celebrar al Salvador resucitado, Jesucristo. Hazte un favor a ti y a tu familia… celebren el hecho de que ahora tenemos acceso total, porque el velo ha sido rasgado por ti y por mí.
