Emergency Response to Domestic Disturbance
At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, law enforcement responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence on the 100 block of 5th Avenue in Twin City. The Twin City Police Department, Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office, and Emanuel County EMS all arrived at the scene.

Following the incident, law enforcement was unable to locate Zaria’s husband, Shamarcus Carr, or her 2021 Dodge Challenger, which was also missing. An alert was quickly issued for the vehicle.

Autopsy and Legal Follow-up
The GBI’s Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct a full autopsy on Zaria Carr to determine the exact cause of death. The results will be critical in confirming whether foul play, such as homicide, occurred.
Once the investigation is complete, the case file will be turned over to the Middle Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for potential prosecution or further legal proceedings.
