Colquitt County man re-arrested in child sex crime while free on bond for same charge *

COLQUITT COUNTY, Georgia – Authorities are holding a Colquitt County man without bond after a June 22 arrest on a sex crime felony relating to a minor – the same but separate charge for which he had been released from the Colquitt County jail in March.
This time around, the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office and Southern Judicial Circuit District Attorney Bradfield Shealy will urge the Superior Court to reject bond for 55-year-old John Timothy Harbin, a resident of Colquitt County for at least the last 20 years. 
Despite the similarity in names, the man arrested is not former Enigma City Council member John Harbin.
Investigator Mike Morris said John Timothy Harbin of Norman Park just outside Moultrie faces three felonies in his most recent arrest. The Sheriff’s Office booked him into jail on June 22 on a charge of sexual battery against a child under 16, child molestation and criminal attempt to commit a felony.
Harbin was out on bond when the June arrest occurred. He was charged and indicted on a previous child sex felony but was granted bond on that charge in March.

He won’t be freed on bond again if local law enforcement has its way. “Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office and the DA do not agree” that he should be allowed out on bond again, Investigator Morris said in a phone interview Wednesday.
No bond hearing had been set for Harbin as of July 1.
