Evans Memorial Camp Celebrates 9th Homecoming in Lakeland

Lakeland, LANIER COUNTY, Georgia – Evans Memorial Camp marked a significant milestone on Saturday as it hosted its 9th annual Homecoming celebration at its campus on North Highway 221 in Lakeland. The event brought together alumni, families, and supporters to honor the transformative work the camp continues to do in the lives of men overcoming addiction.
The festivities began at 11:00 a.m., featuring fellowship, worship, and a variety of family-friendly activities. A highlight of the day was the graduation ceremony at 2:00 p.m., celebrating James Beatty’s completion of the camp’s 10-month Christ-centered regeneration program.
As part of the celebration, the camp hosted a cake auction, inviting community members to contribute baked goods to support the ministry’s ongoing efforts.
Founded by Richard Wagner, Evans Memorial Camp offers a faith-based program aimed at helping men aged 18 and older overcome drug and alcohol addiction. The camp emphasizes spiritual growth, personal responsibility, and community support as key components of recovery.
