Methamphetamine Bust on Willachoochee Highway

Douglas, COFFEE COUNTY, Georgia – Charles Black (55) and Stephanie Rountree (29), both of Douglas were charged last week with trafficking methamphetamine. The arrest was made after Coffee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) searched their Willacoochee Highway residence.
According to information from CCSO, the Coffee Country Drug Unit was conducting a drug operation on Tuesday, August 13. The CCSO had obtained a search warrant for the residence in the 1900 block of Willacoochee Highway.
Stephanie Rountree was found in a bedroom closet at the resident when officers arrived and served a warrant. At the same Rountree was located, officers also found suspected methamphetamine and a digital scale.
Black had left the residence prior to the CCSO officers, who served the warrant. Charles Black was detained after he left his residence.
Officers conducted a field test. The suspected methamphetamine drug found with Rountree, tested positive as methamphetamine, which weighed about 34 grams.
Records indicate that Rountree had an active warrant for probation violation at the time of her arrest. Prior to the 2024 warrant involving Black, Rountree had been arrested in 2022 for methamphetamine possession. A sentence which included probation was administered when Rountree plead guilty The active warrant had been issues because she was known to have violated her 2023 probation terms more than once.
Other public database records appear to indicate that Black has had numerous run-ins with law enforcement over time.
Charles Black and Stephanie Rountree were charged with:
- Methamphetamine possession
- Methamphetamine trafficking
At the time of writing this story, Charles Black and Stephanie Rountree remained in custody at the Coffee County Jail.
