Community Support Shines at 5th Annual Lowell Hammock Memorial Tournament *

HAHIRA, Ga. – The Board of Directors of Jacobs’ Ladder Therapeutic Riding Center extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped make the 5th Annual Lowell Hammock Memorial 9-Pin No-Tap Tournament another tremendous success.
From the sound of bowling pins crashing to the cheers echoing throughout the lanes, this year’s tournament was filled with excitement, friendly competition, and an overwhelming display of community support. Twenty-two teams participated in the event, making it one of the most successful tournaments to date and demonstrating once again the generosity of those who support the mission of Jacobs’ Ladder.
Competition was fierce as bowlers rolled impressive scores throughout the day. Capturing first-place honors was the team of Doug Criswell, Billy Cook, Chris Martin and Ashley Carter, who combined for an outstanding score of 2,721. 
One of the highlights of the tournament was the remarkable number of perfect games recorded. A total of six perfect 300 games were bowled, an achievement that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. Congratulations go to Rodney Paramore, Bob Kemp, Daniel Jacobs, John Bray and Kirk Nelson, who accomplished the feat, with Nelson recording two perfect games during the event.
Nelson also earned recognition as the tournament’s High Male Bowler, finishing with an incredible 875 series after throwing 35 strikes out of a possible 36. The High Female Bowler award was presented to Jessica Gutierrez, whose outstanding 648 series showcased both skill and consistency throughout the competition.
Beyond the scores and awards, the tournament served as a reminder of what can be accomplished when a community comes together for a worthy cause. Participants supported the event not only through bowling, but also through silent auction purchases, volunteer efforts, sponsorships and enthusiastic encouragement from the sidelines.
The work of Jacobs’ Ladder Therapeutic Riding Center is made possible through the kindness, generosity and continued support of the community. Funds raised through events such as the Lowell Hammock Memorial Tournament help ensure that Jacobs’ Ladder can continue providing life-changing therapeutic riding opportunities to individuals and families throughout South Georgia.
The organization also wishes to recognize the many businesses and individuals whose sponsorships helped make the event possible. Packaging Corporation of America served as the tournament’s major sponsor. Feed-a-Horse-for-a-Year sponsors included Eric Castor, DDS, and Georgia Power Company. Lane sponsors were Greater Valdosta United Way, Thacker Dermatology, Stout, Sheffield & Associates CPA, James Garland Financial Services, Valdosta Electric Company and Shiloh Pecan Farms. Team sponsors included Citizens Community Bank, Todd Alderman, DDS, Southeastern Credit Union and Dora Harding.
Additional support was provided by Pepsi, which donated beverages for the event, and Inner Perimeter Road Chick-fil-A, which provided lunch for participants and volunteers. Jacobs’ Ladder also extends special appreciation to the Lanier County News, Rebecca Barnes, Valentin and Kim Rampley Churasi, and Juan and Marina Ortiz for their generous support and contributions to the tournament’s success.
