That was a Brylcream commercial of the 1950’s and 60’s, “A little dab will do you!” Well, this old boy that was sweet on this girl thought that if a little dab would do the trick then a whole handful would really make him even more befitting to his sweetheart. It was a hot July day and by the time he walked to her house two miles away he looked like someone that had been dipped in a barrel of grease. Running onto his ears and nose, then dripping off. She took one look at him and thought, “What a grease ball!” So I thought, “Isn’t that the way old satan tricks us. Oh, a little dab won’t hurt, then next thing you know we are head over heels in it.” Amen!
Old silver tongue (satan) perches up on our shoulder and says, “Go ahead! A little dab of pornography won’t hurt you! Just get a copy of Playboy. It ain’t so bad! It will enhance your marriage.” What a dirty rotten lie from the liar himself. The devil is a liar from the word git go and the truth ain’t in him. A little dab of pornography will lead to a whole handful until it engulfs you and destroys you. Amen! It will rob you of your marriage, your home and your respect. The devil is a thief and he uses every demonic tool at his disposal to rob you of your joy, your salvation and then your soul.
Oh, a little dab of beer and marijuana won’t hurt you. On the road to destruction one thing leads to another and a little dab leads to a big dab. A little dab won’t do you, because the more you get the more you will want. The more you dab the more you will need. You see, the appetites of the flesh are insatiable (can’t satisfy them), but if we let Him, Jesus can help us take away all the evil fleshly desires. Only Jesus can satisfy our soul and take away all the carnal desires and we will begin to seek God and the kingdom of God first. Don’t fall for those old lines where satan through people try to convince folks that a little dab will do and is good for you. “Oh, my grandpa lived to be 100 and he drank two beers a day since he was 10 to flush out his kidneys!” Well, for everyone like old grandpa I’ll give you thousands that have destroyed their lives, their families lives all because of satan’s lie, “Oh, a little dab won’t hurt you!” When are folks going to quit falling for his lies and start believing the gospel truth found in the good book. Right now, I pray in Jesus sweet holy name. Can you say amen?
