On this sign it read, “Don’t worry about the dog! Beware of the master!”  Well, well!  Now that is true in many cases.  You see I learned at an early age that it is the master of the dog that you don’t trust.

This lady told me to come right on in through the yard gate.  Her dog was making an awful fuss.  Dogs don’t like me no way.  So, I trusted her and took her at her word and in I went and there he came.

Now, she said, “Gary, son, he won’t bite nothing other than a biscuit.”  He ain’t said nothing other than growl and show them sharp teeth.  Apparently I either looked like a biscuit or smelled like one, because he bit me just as sure as my name is what it is.

He came after me and I did the square dance, the jitterbug, the Charleston, the twist, some rock and roll, and the two-step trying to bypass that bite that was coming that she said would never happen.  He bit me good and I picked me up a brick and told her politely that if she didn’t get that wild dog then I was going to rightly and slightly bust his brains out on that ground.

Now loving a dog and treating them right is one thing and it goes both ways.  Now, I don’t have murder in my heart, but if you bite me then I’m gonna hurt you.  Plain and simple!  Precise and to the point!

Now, a lot of folks serve a master that you can’t trust.  That is satan.  You can’t trust him as far as you can throw me, and I’m heavy on my feet now.  He is a big fat liar and the truth ain’t in him.  But there is one sweet loving, kind and true master that you can trust and that is the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  He won’t lead you wrong.     

The devil will tell you like that lady did me, “Oh, he won’t bite!”  The devil is so deceptive, “Oh, it won’t hurt!  Just a little won’t hurt!”  Until he’s got your leg, then your arm, then your whole body and then your precious priceless soul!  You can trust the Lord with all your heart and He will direct your paths in the right way that you should go!  Can you say amen?

CUIDADO CON EL AMO:  The Christian Way Ministries

En ese letrero se leía: “¡No te preocupes por el perro! ¡Cuidado con el amo!” Bueno, bueno… Eso es verdad en muchos casos. Verá, aprendí desde muy joven que no es tanto en el perro en quien no se debe confiar, sino en el amo del perro.

Una señora me dijo que pasara sin problema por la reja del patio. Su perro estaba armando un escándalo terrible. Los perros no me quieren de ninguna manera. Aun así, confié en ella, tomé su palabra y entré… y ahí vino él.

Entonces ella dijo: “Gary, hijo, él no muerde nada más que una galleta”. Pues no había hecho nada más que gruñir y mostrar esos dientes afilados. Al parecer, o me veía como una galleta o olía como una, porque me mordió tan seguro como que mi nombre es el que es.

Se me vino encima y yo hice el baile cuadrado, el jitterbug, el Charleston, el twist, algo de rock and roll y el two-step, todo tratando de esquivar esa mordida que ella dijo que nunca pasaría. Me mordió bien, y yo agarré un ladrillo y le dije educadamente que, si no controlaba a ese perro salvaje, yo iba a romperle la cabeza contra el suelo, como correspondía.

Amar a un perro y tratarlo bien es una cosa, y eso va en ambos sentidos. No tengo asesinato en el corazón, pero si me muerdes, te voy a hacer daño. ¡Así de simple! ¡Claro y directo!

Ahora bien, mucha gente sirve a un amo en el que no se puede confiar. Ese es Satanás. No se puede confiar en él ni hasta donde me puedan lanzar a mí, y ahora ya piso pesado. Es un gran y gordo mentiroso, y la verdad no está en él. Pero hay un amo dulce, amoroso, bondadoso y verdadero en quien sí se puede confiar, y ese es el Señor y Salvador Jesucristo. Él no te va a guiar por mal camino.   

El diablo te dirá, como me dijo aquella señora: “Oh, no muerde”. El diablo es muy engañoso: “Oh, no te hará daño. Solo un poquito no hace daño”. Hasta que ya te tiene la pierna, luego el brazo, después todo el cuerpo y finalmente tu alma preciosa e invaluable. Puedes confiar en el Señor con todo tu corazón, y Él enderezará tus caminos por la senda correcta por la que debes andar. ¿Puedes decir amén?
