GLYNN COUNTY, Georgia — A 13-year-old boy has been arrested by Glynn County police in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins in the Somersby Pointe subdivision and an early morning high-speed car chase in a stolen vehicle, authorities said Wednesday.
According to Glynn County Police Department officials, the juvenile is suspected of entering multiple vehicles in June 2025 and removing items, including at least one firearm. After reviewing residential surveillance footage, investigators identified the suspect, police said.
On July 15, detectives interviewed the boy at the Glynn County Police Department headquarters, where officers seized two additional firearms and other stolen property found in his bedroom. One of the guns was reportedly stolen from another county.
In a separate incident in July 2024, police say the same juvenile was behind the wheel of a stolen Toyota Camry traveling along Georgia Highway 27 near Cary Street just after 5 a.m. The vehicle, missing a front passenger-side tire and license plate, reached speeds up to 65 mph, drove against traffic, and nearly collided with other motorists twice. Officer William Duggan ultimately used a second PIT maneuver to bring the car to a stop at Louis Lane and Old Jesup Road. Inside, officers discovered a stolen handgun.
The juvenile has been charged with:
- Two counts of theft entering an automobile
- Two counts of possession of a handgun by a person under 18
- Fleeing and eluding police
- Reckless driving
- Driving without a license or insurance
He is being held at a regional youth detention center near Savannah as the investigation continues.
