LAKELAND, Lanier County, Georgia – The Lakeland Fire and Rescue Department responded to multiple calls over the past week, with a series of false alarms raising concern and attention across the community. Here is a breakdown of incidents reported between June  9 and June 16, 2025:

June 11 – Elementary School Alarm Response

At approximately [insert time if known], firefighters were dispatched to Lanier County Elementary School in response to an activated fire alarm. Upon arrival and a thorough investigation, fire personnel determined the alarm to be false, with no hazard present. Students and staff were safe, and no evacuation was necessary.

June 12 – Second False Alarm at Elementary School

Just one day later, a second fire alarm was reported at the same elementary school. The Lakeland Fire and Rescue team again responded quickly. After a comprehensive check of the premises, the incident was confirmed as another false alarm. The source of the repeated alarms is currently under review, and school officials are working in coordination with fire personnel to ensure system reliability and prevent future disruptions.

June 12 – Alarm on Peachtree Street

Later that day, a call came in for an alarm sounding at a residence or business on Peachtree Street. However, the call was canceled prior to unit deployment, and no response was necessary.

Ongoing Monitoring and Community Safety

While all incidents this week turned out to be non-emergencies, the department emphasizes the importance of vigilance and timely reporting. False alarms can divert critical resources from actual emergencies, but each call is treated with full seriousness to ensure public safety.
