By Carol A. Gasser Moore /

THOMASVILLE, Thomas County, Georgia – The Thomas County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) announced that three men were arrested on May 20 and 21 in connection with separate drug investigations, all now facing charges related to drug distribution.

According to a statement released by TCSO, the first arrest occurred on Tuesday, May 20 when deputies executed a search warrant at a residence on South Street in Thomasville. During the search, law enforcement officers apprehended Demetrius Dontae Ross. The search led to the seizure of approximately 2.25 ounces of Alpha-PVP (a synthetic stimulant), multiple digital scales, plastic baggies, a loaded pistol, $6,137 in cash, and a vehicle.

Ross, who is a convicted felon, faces several serious charges including:

  • Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance (Alpha-PVP) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
  • Obstruction of a law enforcement officer

Details regarding the other two arrests made during the same week have not yet been publicly disclosed by TCSO, but the agency stated that all three individuals are being charged with possession with intent to distribute.

Authorities say the arrests are part of an ongoing effort to curb the illegal drug trade in Thomas County. The sheriff’s office emphasized its commitment to pursuing individuals involved in drug trafficking and encouraged residents to report any suspicious activity.

Additional information on the other two arrests is expected to be released as investigations continue.
