By Carol A. Gasser Moore

VALDOSTA, Lowndes County, Georgia – Narcotics Unit Valdosta Police Department (VPD) detectives were serving an active arrest warrant on Wednesday, December 11 when they uncovered another problem.  According to information released by the VPD, the detectives were at a residence in the 400 block of Webster Street.  The warrant was served on Michael Sloan (35) of Valdosta.  As they spoke with Sloan and took him into custody, detectives noticed an odor of narcotics from inside the residence.

A search warrant for the residence was immediately obtained by the detectives based upon the odor.  As they executed the warrant, detectives found Delcida McCullough (35) of Valdosta inside the residence.  The officers determined that McCullough had active arrest warrants.

A quantity of powder thought to be cocaine was seized by the detectives.  They also seized a firearm, tools and currency that are indicative of narcotics sales.

The VPD indicate that Michael Sloan was transported to Lowndes County Jail.  He has been charged with:

  • possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute (felony),
  • possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony (felony), and
  • possession of drug-related items (misdemeanor),

along with the active arrest warrant.

Delcida McCullough was also transported to Lowndes County Jail on her two active arrest warrants, which were not related to this case.
