Two Wayne County Children Now Face Homicide Charges of 8-year-old Jesup Boy

By Carol A. Gasser Moore

JESUP, WAYNE COUNTY, Georgia – The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) has released new information regarding the death of Noah Bush (8) of Jesup on May 15.  Two other children, ages 10 and 11, are being held in connection with Bush’s death.  Bush’s body was not found until May 16.

WCSO requested assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) within a few days of the death.  In an effort to draw more attention to the case, both friends and family have held multiple protests because they initially believed that Noah Bush had been killed.

Though it has taken almost two (2) months, the Wayne County Juvenile Court (WCJC) has found “probable cause” for the two juvenile children to be charged in connection with the death.  The judge has set the 10-year-old child’s bond at $5,000.  The 11-year-old child’s bond has been set at $10,000.  Both children are in custody at the Wayne County Juvenile Detention Center at the time this article was published.

This week the release of Noah Bush’s autopsy report indicated that Bush died in the manner of “homicide” and his cause of death was by drowning.  The WCSO’s investigation of the death indicates that one of the two juveniles, both of whom were with Noah, pushed Noah Bush into the deep portion of a borrow pit in which they were wading.

Due to their ages, the suspects have been identified only as an 11-year-old child and a 10 year-old child. The investigation is ongoing.

According to the WCJC The 11 year old child’s charges include:

  • Concealing the death of another
  • Criminal trespass
  • Involuntary manslaughter
  • Simple battery

The 10 year-old child’s charges are:

  • Concealing the death of another
  • Criminal trespass

The WCSO indicates that there is video evidence.  WCSO states that pending the completion of enhancement of video evidence, additional charges may be possible.

In addition to the video evidence, the family of Noah Bush conducted their own investigation with the help of Davis Bozeman Johnson Law.
