LAKELAND, Ga. — Move over, Uncle Sam. There’s a new patriotic fashion statement walking the streets of Lakeland, and it has people doing double takes.

Local artist and Jon the Scout creator Jon Moore has officially become his own walking comic strip after unveiling a custom-designed shirt featuring not only his beloved cartoon character—but multiple images of his own face as well.   

The result?

Part patriotic celebration, part wearable art, part comic strip, and entirely Jon.

The colorful button-down bursts with red, white and blue brushstrokes, stars, and waving American flags while dozens of smiling Jon the Scout faces share fabric space with equally cheerful photographs of Moore himself.

It may be the only shirt in South Georgia where the artist literally has himself covered.

Friends have already joked that if anyone forgets what Jon looks like, all they have to do is read his shirt.

“It certainly solves the problem of name recognition,” one observer laughed. “You can recognize him from the front, the back, and apparently every square foot in between.”

The patriotic design couldn’t have arrived at a better time as America celebrates the 250th anniversary of its independence. The shirt combines Jon Moore’s love of country with the character that has entertained LanierCountyNewsOnline readers for more than six years.
