Unspeakable Tragedy: Douglas Residents Charged in Death of 7-Month-Old Baby

DOUGLAS, Coffee County, Georgia – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested two Douglas residents in connection with the tragic death of a 7-month-old infant in Coffee County.

Guillermo “Will” Pineda, 29, and Hannah Green, 27, have been charged following a week-long investigation that revealed disturbing details about the abuse and death of Green’s child.

Details of the Incident

On Friday, June 6, 2025, around 9:50 a.m., Coffee County 911 dispatch received an emergency call regarding an infant in distress at a residence in the 400 block of Kamera Road, near Douglas. Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) arrived to find the child unresponsive, without a heartbeat or breathing. The infant was initially resuscitated at Coffee Regional Medical Center and subsequently transferred to Savannah Memorial Hospital for specialized treatment.

Doctors at Savannah Memorial discovered that the child had suffered multiple injuries consistent with ongoing physical abuse. Despite intensive medical efforts, the child succumbed to injuries and passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025.

Investigation Findings

Preliminary investigation revealed that Guillermo Pineda had a documented history of abusing the child. Authorities allege that Hannah Green was aware of this abuse yet failed to protect the child. Moreover, after the incident that led to the infant’s death, Green is accused of attempting to conceal evidence and mislead investigators regarding Pineda’s abusive behavior.

The GBI has charged Pineda with:

  • Malice Murder
  • Felony Murder
  • Aggravated Battery
  • Cruelty to Children in the First Degree

Green faces charges of:

  • Cruelty to Children in the Second Degree
  • Tampering with Evidence

Both individuals were arrested without incident and are currently being held at the Coffee County Jail.

Next Steps in the Case

An autopsy is being conducted by the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in Pooler, Georgia, to officially determine the cause and manner of death.

The case remains an active and ongoing investigation. Once complete, it will be referred to the Waycross Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
