Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership Grant Program – OPEN!
The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (Georgia DNR) is pleased to announce the opening of the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) Program. Below you will find information on the nationally competitive grant program and application dates.
The Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership Program Grant (ORLP) is available to cities and counties populated by at least 25,000 individuals. ORLP can assist with the development, acquisition, or rehabilitation of land specifically for public outdoor recreation in urban areas. The grant application is competitive and ranked with other applications across the nation. The review, approval and award amount are determined by Department of Interior – National Park Service. The Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) document was released in June of 2026. The NOFO’s application guidelines are detailed on the ORLP webpage and must be submitted via email to [email protected].
ORLP Funding Cycle Timeline
- July 6, 2026 – Application Open
- September 4, 2026 – Application Due
- September 2026 – Applications Reviewed by DNR
- October 2026 – Applications Submitted to NPS
- May 2027 – Selected Projects Announced by NPS
