Lanier County Canning Plant to Open June 2 for 2025 Season: Community Invited to Preserve Fresh Produce

LANIER COUNTY, Georgia – The Lanier County Canning Plant is gearing up to welcome the public for its 2025 summer season, beginning Monday, June 2. A longstanding seasonal resource for local growers and home gardeners, the facility offers an affordable and accessible space for residents to process their freshly harvested produce.

This year, the plant will operate Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday during select weeks, and even on two special Saturday openings in June, helping ensure that working families have access to its services.


📅 Operating Schedule

June Hours:

  • Open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays

  • Special Saturday Openings: June 21 and June 28
    July Hours:

  • Open July 1–3 and July 7–11

  • Final Day of Operation: Friday, July 11

Daily hours are 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and strictly enforced—no items will be accepted after the noon cut-off.


🛑 Important Guidelines

  • This is not a drop-off facility. Patrons must stay and prepare their own produce.

  • Staff assistance is limited and available only when possible—participants are advised to come prepared.

  • Bring your own jars, lids, and rings if opting for jarred preservation.
