Lakeland Fire Department Report for November 04, 2024*
October 29 – Call to a large debris fire at the city limb yard. Arrived to find that an ember from a smaller fire had ignited the large pile and was spreading. Firemen stopped the spread of flames toward a home and forestry was called to cut a break around the limb yard. The fire was allowed to burn until the pile was consumed.
October 29– Call to an auto accident on West Main. Arrived to find two vehicles involved with no injury.
October 31– Call to a woods fire on Highway-122 west. Arrived to find that a debris fire had spread to the woods. Forestry was called to assist.
October 31– Call to an auto accident on Valdosta Highway in front of the package store. Arrived to find that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian. EMS transported the patient with a head injury to SGMC main campus.
At the August 2024 Lakeland City Council meeting the Fire Department reported:
- Received a total of 17 calls – 7 within the city – in July 2024
- Total department salaries for the month of July was $1,145.00
- Department will need to order supplies soon.
*The Lakeland Fire Department is no longer getting fire reports from the county. Until further notice, The LFD can only send reports from calls answered by Lakeland Fire Department due to not having run sheets from the county. The Lanier County News has requested a county run sheet, but has not yet had a response.
