GULF SEARCH AND RESCUE DEPLOYMENT to Georgia and South Carolina

SOUTH CAROLINA – GulfSAR is continuously monitoring weather conditions and the projected rainfall in South Carolina and Georgia.

GulfSAR member sare deploying from several states to assist the South Carolina and Georgia Coastline as Debby’s impacts are felt.Out of state members will be arriving as early as tomorrow morning.

GulfSAR has two boat teams and an airboat enroute to provide support in flood prone areas.

We will be working with the Emergency Operations Center to assist multiple agencies with high wind and swiftwater rescues.  We help bridge the gap because most agencies are limited to responses below 55 mph winds, where we are not.

As the storm passes through the area, we will reassess the situation and respond to other areas as needed.

We will provide further information and updates as the situation warrants.

About Our Foundation

Inspired by life-changing events, GulfSAR was established in 2020. GulfSAR is founded on ethics and safety above all else. Our founders, board members and partners have one goal: to save those who cannot save themselves.

GulfSAR is a nonprofit organization made up of specialized, certified Flood and Swiftwater Technicians, K9 Handlers, Rope Technicians, Ground Specialists and Confined Space Technicians dedicated to the safety and well-being of citizens across the United States, providing quality Search and Rescue operations.

We are committed to using any and all resources at our disposal to assist in the locating and rescue of persons, household pets and livestock in need of assistance during times of peril…. with a focus, but not limited to, rising and swift water scenarios.

Our mission is carried out using the expertise and technology at our disposal of our group of certified specialists, always with attention paid to the safety of all parties involved. Since its conception, dedicated volunteers have worked hard to put together certification, training, experience, and equipment to assist citizens in need during disasters.

It is an all-volunteer group, self-funded that assists government organizations when specialized training is required for rescues and/or recoveries. The continued expansion of training and equipment acquisition is of the utmost importance along with having available manpower to ensure success for the citizens of the Gulf Region and others as needed.

GULF SEARCH AND RESCUE is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, charitable organization.
