Saturday, July 6, the CCSO was summoned to a Bethel Road resident in Coffee County. A CCSO Deputy was tasked with the duty of providing help during a possible “domestic dispute”. The Deputy was advised that there was reason to believe there had been a forcible entry into the residence. Law enforcement was also advised that there been a citizen abduction.
CCSO was also told that the criminal actions were thought to have been committed by Mitchel Jump.

Despite the vehicle’s stop in a ditch, the CCSO Deputy indicated that the suspect, Jump, exited the driver’s seat and fled on foot through a patch of woods. The pursuit continued on foot with the CCSO Deputy apprehending Mitchel Jump near Ben Carver Road and taking Jump into custody.
After the suspect’s apprehension, the CCSO Deputy was able to focus on the suspect’s victim. The victim was found seated in the Chevrolet Avalanche. Statements from the victim confirmed that suspect and herself were together at the residence when Mitchel Jump began to assault her. Escaping to another residence in order to summon help through E911.
The woman indicated that while she was on the phone, Jump came to the residence, banged on the door, gained entrance to the home then forcibly removed the victim forcing her into his vehicle. At that point, Jump began driving at a high rate of speed.
During CCSO Officer’s investigation, a witness reported seeing Mitchell Jump running around the home with a pry bar. The witness confirmed that Mitchell hit the doors, side of the house as well as the windows.
