City of Thomasville announces property tax increase

The Council of the City of Thomasville has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by one hundred percent (100%).

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held in the Council Chambers, Thomasville Municipal Building, located at 144 East Jackson Street, Thomasville Georgia on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.

Two additional public hearings on this tax increase will be held at the Council Chambers, Thomasville Municipal Building, located at 144 East Jackson Street, Thomasville Georgia on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 5.000 mills, an increase of five (5) mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than zero (0) mills.
