Save the Date: Program on Government and Democracy with Renowned Scholar

Georgia Historical Society

Please join the Georgia Historical Society (GHS) and the UVA Club of Savannah for a discussion with Dr. Sidney Milkis, the White Burkett Miller Professor of Governance and Foreign Affairs at the University of Virginia. He is the author of What Happened to the Vital Center?, which provides a long historical view of populism, party politics, and the growth of presidential power.

As the kickoff event for GHS’s commemoration of the United States’s 250th anniversary, this program features a wide-ranging discussion with Dr. Milkis about how the American experiment in self-government has evolved to meet the challenges of an ever-changing country over the last 250 years. This event also begins the 2023 – 2024 GHS Georgia History Festival, “Governing Georgia Across Three Centuries.”
