Someone to Respond, and a Safe Place for Crisis Care 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline

The 9-8-8 Steering Committee has created a video that you can use to help explain how Mobile Crisis works in Georgia. As of our latest data review (see below), 35% of all calls to 9-8-8 in Georgia were handled over the phone, 23% required a mobile response and 42% needed a safe place for crisis care.

Feel free to share this video resource with your colleagues in meetings and presentations where you need to describe Georgia’s mobile crisis system.

To ensure transparency around the rollout of the new 9-8-8 ecosystem in Georgia, the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is providing stakeholders and the public with regular data updates on a wide range of metrics across the 9-8-8 system.

9-8-8 Data will be regularly reported along the three key service areas outlined by the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA): Someone To Call, Someone to Respond, and a Safe Place for Crisis Care.
