The City of Valdosta is proud to announce its enthusiastic support for Second Harvest of South Georgia, Inc. as they commemorate the foundation celebration of their new headquarters. Last week, City Leadership and elected officials came together to express solidarity with this essential organization, recognizing its unwavering commitment to eradicating hunger in our community.

Today marks another milestone in our collaborative efforts, as we extend our support to Second Harvest with a significant contribution of $926,808 toward their Capital Campaign. This financial backing underscores our collective dedication to making a meaningful impact and ensuring that no individual in our community experiences hunger.

The City of Valdosta commends Second Harvest for its tireless endeavors and steadfast dedication to serving others. Together, we are forging a path toward a brighter future, where every member of our community has access to nutritious food and support during challenging times.

“Second Harvest of South Georgia is excited to announce the launch of our ‘We Gather’ capital campaign, with a goal of $25 million,” said Frank Richards, CEO at Second Harvest. “We are incredibly grateful for donors like the City of Valdosta who have helped us reach $23 million already. The community will be hearing more soon about this fundraising effort to complete our new headquarters and further expand our capacity to serve our community.”
