A student-produced civil rights exhibition in VSU’s Odum Library is open to the public now through mid-May.

Curated by students in Dr. Sarah FitzGerald’s HIST 4215: Introduction to Public History class, the exhibit highlights civil rights and social justice movements using archival materials. It also features contemporary photography from Lindsay Godin’s ART 4072: Color Photography class.
The artifacts on display are from a variety of sources — VSU Archives and Special Collections, VSU Copeland African American Museum, Valdosta City Schools, the Lowndes County Historical Society and Museum, as well as community historians Dr. Willie Houseal and James Edward Alexander.
