Russell Albert Morgan Quitman, GA 1946 – 2023
Russell Albert Morgan, 77, of Quitman, GA passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at South Georgia Medical Center. Russell was born on February 23, 1946 in Tampa, FL and adopted by Louis and Betty Harron Morgan. Russell received the Purple Heart for his service to his country while in United States Marine Corps. Continuing his life of service he served as the financial officer for the American Legion Post 13 of Valdosta, the financial officer of the Fraternal Order of Purple Heart, the treasurer of the Elk’s Lodge in Valdosta, a former district Vice Commander of the 12th District and the Local Commander for chapter #1000 purple heart. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers in law, Charles Michael and Billy McSwain Polatty.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Patricia Morgan of Quitman, GA; son, Robert Eugene Morgan of Live Oak, FL; adopted son, Jamie Morgan of Wellborn, FL; three step sons, Carl “Wally” Noah of Fort White, FL, Charles Russell “Rusty” Noah of Fort White, FL, Joshua Shane Lindsey of Tallahassee, FL; two step daughters, Deborah Lynn Slater of Valdosta, GA, Sonya Leigh Money of Dothan, AL;14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, September 8, 2023, at Music Funeral Services of Valdosta. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Friday, September 8, 2023 at the funeral home.
