Betty Dixon Nashville, GA 1947 – 2023
Betty Jean Dixon, 76, of Nashville, died Tuesday August 22, 2023 in the Fellowship Home in Valdosta.
She was born January 23, 1947 in Tift County to the late George Elrod and the late Annie Laurie Murray Elrod. She was a homemaker, worked at Nashville Textile and served for many years as a paraprofessional at Berrien Elementary School. She was a member of the Nashville First Baptist Church and was the widow of Ronald Lee Dixon who died on August 17, 2023. She was also preceded in death by a son: Michael Dixon and sister: Alice Faye McCloud.
She is survived by her daughter: Anna Hall of Nashville; 2 grandchildren: Matthew Ray of Nashville and Michaela (Jake) Hall of Largo, FL; 2 great grandchildren: Tatum Ray and Elliot Hall; 2 brothers: George Elrod, Jr of Sparks and Ralph Cleveland Elrod of Jonesboro.
Funeral services will be held Friday August 25, 2023 at 3 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Keffer officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview cemetery. Visitation is Friday one hour prior to the service. Memorials can be made to the Nashville First Baptist Church.
