ATLANTA |Today, Lt. Governor Burt Jones hosted the inaugural DeKalb and Fulton Counties Constituent Services Day. The Lt. Governor was joined by DeKalb and Fulton County Legislative Delegation members, City of Atlanta and county representatives, members of the Georgia Council on Literacy, and state agencies/organizations.
“I want to extend my appreciation to everyone who supported and joined us for this inaugural event,” said Lt. Governor Burt Jones. “We recognize that not all constituent issues are uniform and sometimes a face-to-face meeting with an agency or organization is the best way to resolve constituent requests. Today’s event is the first of many larger events we plan to hold across the state to bring state and other resources directly to Georgians.”
Lt. Governor Jones also hosted his first-ever book drive in support of the Georgia Council on Literacy. The Council Chairman, Scott Johnson, Miranda Williams from GOSA, and other Council members attended the event today to receive the donated books. The Lt. Governor’s Office was able to collect and donate over 2,300 books to the Georgia Council on Literacy.
