Carolyn Gilbert Ray City, GA 1937 – 2023
Mrs. Carolyn Gilbert, 86 of Ray City passed away Monday, August 14, 2023 at the Fellowship Home in Nashville. Mrs. Gilbert was born July 6, 1937 to the late Carl & Margaret Cooper. She lived in San Antonio, Texas before coming here in January 2002. Mrs. Gilbert was a member of the Ray City United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed her arts and crafts and also reading. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Bridget Mikell of Ray City, and David Gilbert of Ray City; four grandchildren, Lucretia Griffin of Ray City, Rebecca Mikell of York, PA, Ross (Justin) Mikell of West Demonies, IA, and Michael Adams of Houston, Tx; seven great grandchildren, Dakota Griffin, Austin (McKinzie) Griffin, Mikella Griffin, Braelyn Griffin, Aaron Griffin, Abigale Oliver, and Andrew Mikell. Mrs. Gilbert was preceded in death by her husband in 1983, Jimmy Gilbert; sons, Bobby Jay Gilbert, Charlie Gilbert, Karl Gilbert, and Robert Mikell; and one sister, Sue Roth.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, August 18, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Ray City United Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne Mitchell and Rev. Danita Knowles officiating.
