Linda “Joyce” Tomlinson Hahira, GA 1943 – 2023

Linda Joyce Tomlinson 79, of Hahira, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 25, 1943, in Hahira, Georgia to Eugene and Nellie (Vickers) Parker. She graduated from Hahira High School and soon after, married her one true love. Together, she and B. J. raised four children and in 1971 they opened Tomlinson Body Shop in Hahira. Joyce could be found working in the body shop office right beside her beloved husband. Joyce’s passion was serving the Lord and giving back to her small hometown community of Hahira. She taught Sunday School for many years and was the ultimate driving force behind the Food Bank and the Soup Kitchen at the Hahira Community Church. One of Joyce’s favorite hobbies was quilting so she started a quilting group in Hahira so that the women of the community could gather around to quilt while visiting and reminiscing. She loved working in her yards and tending to a garden full of fresh vegetables. She is preceded in death by two of her sisters, Shirley Etheridge and Diane Stalvey.

Survivors include: her loving and devoted husband of almost 62 years, B. J. Tomlinson of Hahira, Georgia; her two daughters, Vicki Rountree (Stacy) of Hahira, Georgia and Tisha Tomlinson (Paul Faivre) of Hahira, Georgia; her two sons, Stacy Tomlinson (Carla) of Hahira, Georgia and Brian Tomlinson (Amy) of Hahira, Georgia. She is “Mimi” to a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren and leaves a sister, Paulette Bearden (Dave) of Morven, Georgia and a number of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 6:00 pm at the Hahira Community Church in Hahira, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church. A private graveside service will be held for the immediate family only in Friendship Cemetery. The family requests no flowers please, but would welcome donations to the Food Bank of Hahira Community Church, 100 E. Stanfill St, Hahira, Georgia 31632 (memo line put Food Bank).
