John Earl Howard Lakeland, GA 1944-2023
John Earl Howard “The Peanut Pound Cake Man”, age 78 of Lakeland, Georgia passed at his home Saturday, May 27, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born December 11, 1944, in Florence, South Carolina to the late Florence Poston and Samuel Shivine Howard. He was a store manager for Bilo. He enjoyed fishing and being around his family. He is preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Doris Earlene Faulk, Ruby Stidham, Betty Squires, Elma Stidham and Dot Woodard and a brother, S. J. Howard.
Survivors include his nieces and nephews: Heather and Joie Conner, Jason and Lottie Squires all of Lakeland, Georgia, Rick and Debbie Squires of Valdosta, Georgia, Sam Squires of Tampa, Florida, Debra and Mike Isgett of Florence, South Carolina and Freddie Woodard of Charlotte, North Carolina and Sandy and Donna Woodard of Gastonia, North Carolina; and numerous other nieces and nephews also survives.
Funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock am, Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Unity Church with Rev. Mike Green officiating and Freddie Woodard delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
