Charles Tomlinson Lakeland, GA 1939 – 2023

Charles Tomlinson – 83 Of Lakeland, Georgia passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Langdale Hospice House. He was born on March 20, 1939 in Homerville, Georgia to the late Mathew Tomlinson and Estolena Tomlinson. He worked with Levi’s as a Machine Mechanic for 42 years where he retired. Mr. Charles enjoyed fishing, listening to bluegrass and gospel music. He was an avid hunter and had a huge passion for training hunting dogs. He was also an avid gardener and always had 2 huge gardens. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Marie Maughon Tomlinson and his sister, Eloise Gaskins.

Survivors include his son, Scott Tomlinson (Patti) of Cobb, Georgia; daughter, Susan Beale (Wade) of Valdosta, Georgia; grandchildren: Jeremy White, Andrew White, Mathew Tomlinson, Jr. (Melanie), John Tomlinson (Erica), Lauren Mickle (Grant), Seth Tomlinson and Will Tomlinson; great Grandchildren: Anson, Emma, Lanie, Iris, Jaxson, Jack Henry, Mathew III, Louis and Silas and a host of extended family members.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 13, 2023 at Camp Creek Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Langdale Hospice House, 2263 Pineview Drive, Valdosta, Georgia 31602.
