Notice of Public Meeting for Human Health Criteria Updates for 2022 Triennial Review of Water Quality Standards
The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) Watershed Protection Branch will hold a virtual public meeting to explain and discuss the risk targets associated with the human health criteria updates that EPD is considering as part of the 2022 Triennial Review of Water Quality Standards. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, beginning at 11:00 am on the Zoom web conferencing platform.
This meeting is the second in a series of meetings pertaining to updates to our Water Quality Standards based on the 2015 update to EPA’s National Recommended Water Quality Criteria for the Protection of Human Health. The first meeting in this series was held on September 21, 2022 and focused on EPA’s recommended criteria and the probabilistic risk assessment method EPD is planning to use to update our human health criteria. This second meeting will focus on the concept of risk targets and risk as it pertains to subgroups of the population. Additional meeting(s) will be held later to discuss the final resulting criteria. EPD will also address stakeholder questions during the meeting.
