Lanier County Schools Close Early to Slow Spread of COVID-19

LANIER COUNTY, Georgia – When the Nation’s communities hiccup, eventually the effect trickles down to Lanier County students and staff, who can be exposed to the coronavirus, and our local school system’s attendance can begin to fall like a house of cards.  American schools across the United States are experiencing the same thing.  Because the number of Lanier County students quarantined due to coronavirus exposure has risen to almost 10% of the Lanier County School’s student population, the Lanier County School Board of Education has agreed that not only would student’s Christmas Break start early, it will also be lengthened.
