LAKELAND, Georgia – Several church projects are needing assistance.
Pastor Rick Hamilton is reminding helpful church members that this will be the last Sunday to get underwear and sock donations in for our primary and elementary schools.
Hamilton also reminds church members that Lakeland United Methodist Church (UMC) is still in need of winter items for our Clothes Closet. Interested persons are asked to please drop off donations at the office and our inventory ladies will be back on Tuesday to sort and hang up clothes.
Lakeland UMC has received a donation of plastic water bottles that will be used in the church’s Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes. Those interested can fill the boxes with small items and then pack them in your box. Hamilton explained that families who receive the boxes will have a plastic box for storage and a water bottle they can keep and use. Participants are asked to get their boxes returned to the church by November 8th, when they will be dedicated on the altar.
The church will celebrate All Saints Sunday on November 1st. Lakeland UMC will light candles in memory of Helen Strickland, Patsy Hasty, George Banks, and a fourth candle in memory of others that weren’t members of our flock. There will be a celebration with the Sacrament of Holy Communion that day. Those worshiping with Lakeland UMC on-line will need to have their elements ready. Members who would like some of the church’s individual kits should stop by the office and pick some up.
