Community Remembers LCHS 2020 Senior: Her Family Needs Support

By Carol A. Gasser Moore

LAKELAND, Georgia – In her short life, Ashley Diane Dahlgren touched the lives of countless people.  She was a girl who was lively, social, friendly, appreciated and she would “light up a room when she walked in.”  Classmates have described her as happy and boisterous with a ready smile.  Some describe her as “lifting others up even if they were down” just by being around her!  This member of the Lanier County High School 2020 graduating class was killed in a two car crash on Old Stockton Rd., Saturday, July 4th, just a couple of weeks after her formal graduation.  It was close to 8:00 p.m. when she failed to yield and collided with another car which had the right of way.  Her family, who expected not to have to deal with her death for another 50 or more years, needs community support as they face their grief and loss, and prepare for her funeral, whose expenses were ill-timed.

LCHS teacher Brian Sirmans, who also knew Ashley as The Refuge Church’s Youth Pastor, has set up a GoFundMe page with the heading “Funeral Expenses for Ashley Dahlgren”.  On-line go to:  https://www.gofundme.com/f/funeral-expenses-for-ashley-dahlgren/.
