First COVID-19 Related Death Reported for Lanier County: Third COVID-19 Related Death Reported for Lowndes

LAKELAND, GEORGIA – A Lanier County resident has died due to complications related to COVID-19, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH), South Health District. With the death, Lanier County now has one confirmed death due to COVID-19 also known as the coronavirus. The 75-year-old female was not identified other than by age and gender. She was known to have underlying medical conditions which were not disclosed. Another death was also announced on Tuesday. A Lowndes County resident identified only as an 87-year old female with underlying medical conditions also died. Her death makes the third death for Lowndes County. Both individuals were hospitalized.
