Best Kept Secret Around!

By Carol A. Gasser Moore

LAKELAND, GA – Freemasonry seeks to improve the community.  Monday night, members of Masonic Lodge Lakeland Lodge #434 gathered, along with their friends, family members, and general public.  The secret is that they offered a fabulous steak dinner in an effort to develop funds to begin providing a local area scholarship.

Lodge #434 is recognized by the Grand Lodge of Georgia, F&AM, which is in turn recognized by the United Grand Lodge of England. Freemasonry is a charitable, benevolent, educational and religious society.

As an organization, it seeks the primary work of education, of worship and of charity.  Through the improvement and strengthening of the character of the individual man, Freemasonry seeks to improve the community. Thus it impresses upon its members the principles of personal righteousness and personal responsibility, enlightens them as to those things which make for human welfare, and inspires them with the feeling of charity or good will toward all mankind which will move them to translate principle and conviction into action.

Watch for upcoming meals which will be offered by our local lodge in order to support their effort to raise scholarship funds.

This was the scene as a fabulous steak dinner was served. A longer photo shot would have shown quite a line-up of people in line for good eats!
