Lanier County News History

The Lanier County News was originally established in 1913 as The Milltown Advocate and is the second oldest surviving business in Lanier County.
The Lanier County News has served our community with honesty and integrity for over 100 years. The legacy of such great journalists associated with this fine historic treasure as T.A.J. Majors, E.D. Rivers, Folks Huxford, H.P. Trimble, Grover Patten, and Hugh Ratcliffe will endure forever.
E. D. Rivers … moved to Milltown (later Lakeland) and became editor of the Lanier County News. Rivers quickly established himself as a solid member of the Lanier County elite. He was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 1924 and to the state senate in 1926.

Has that changed or are you referring to an actual printed newspaper? The Lanier County News has been completely digital since mid-March. Please let me know.
