Life Celebration of Lee Roy “Poppie” Montgomery – 88

Naylor – Lee Roy “Poppie” Montgomery went to be with the Lord on December 8, 2019 in Lakeland, GA surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 1, 1931 in Adel, GA to the late Alva and Lou Annie (Carter) Montgomery. Mr. Lee Roy was a veteran of The United States Marine Core. He was an avid bird hunter, fisherman, and NASCAR fan. Above all, he loved his family and they in return loved him. Mr. Lee was known to tell the stories of his life and shared the lessons he had learned along the way. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mrs. Eunice Robin Montgomery, Brothers Willie Montgomery and Elwood Montgomery.

He is survived by his Daughter and Son-in-Law Vickie and Ricky Roberts of Naylor, GA; Son and Daughter-in-Law Virgil and Karen Montgomery of Naylor, GA; 5 Grandchildren: Ricky Roberts, Jr. (Rachel), Jerry Roberts (Darla), Justin Roberts (Laurie), Joe Montgomery (Candy), and Heather Montgomery. 8 Great Grandchildren: Drake Roberts, Cade Roberts, Cason Roberts, Lane Roberts, Addy Roberts, Pierce Roberts, Trent Montgomery, Haylee Montgomery. Services honoring Mr. Montgomery will be held on Wednesday December 11, 2019 at 3:00 PM in The Chapel of Music Funeral Services. A musical performance by family celebrating Mr. Lee Roy’s life will begin thirty minutes before services. A burial will follow in The Good Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. The Montgomery family is being served by the caring and professional staff of Music Funeral Services.
